英语听力课程是一门英语听力技能训练课。课程从简单的辨别易混淆的因素开始，逐渐过度到单词的辨音，通过一系列循序渐进的训练，使学生最终能够听懂英语国家人士的一般交谈和简短对话、理解大意、抓住要点和有关细节、进行推理、分析说话者真实意图、能用英语记录要点并做简要概括。本课程重在通过专门系统的听力技能训练，为培养学生全面的英语交际能力奠定良好的听力基础。因此在课程的实施过程中，应以学生自学为主，教师重、难点和技巧辅导为辅，同时结合英语口语练习来全面促进学生的英语交际能力。

电台听力入门
    凡是学习英语的人都知道, 当今提倡素质教育，注重听说能力，英语听力则显得起来越重要,最佳的方法是到英美等国待上一两年，聆听英美人如何讲英语，熟悉他们的发音规律，积极参预对话活动，其能力的提高是可想而知的，每位有条件出国的人都会有自己的亲身体验，在此不作赘述，我们对那些还没有出国或出国不了的，渴望掌握英语的，能持之以恒的，掌握二千以上英语词汇水平的人，提供一种较为有效的学习方法，也就是通过听外语电台的来提高英语的听力，有半年时间的学习训练，准会有很大的进步。之所以选择广播电台作为学习的工具，是因为我国大部分地区都能收听到英语国家的广播电台，特别是英国和美国的广播电台，他们发音标准，语言流畅, 内容丰富，对我们来说，是一本极好的实用听力教材。

收听广播电台的具体的准备。
    A： 物质条件的准备：一台收音机，能接收短波频率的广播节目，价钱在五十元到一百元的收音机就能胜任，有条件的可附加耳机，录音机和磁带。

学习步骤如下：

    一. 对广播电台的接受技巧，时间安排，频率，内容等一般知识性的了解。这是收听广播电台的一些前期准备。

     二. 常用的介绍性的句子片段。在广播电台节目中，每天都有大量的重复性句子，都是一些介绍有关节目内容，时间安排，联系方法之类的内容。

    三. 常用的国家名称和地区名称。 在广播电台节目中，特别是在新闻广播节目当中，熟悉世界各地的国名，地名对于听懂广播节目有着举足轻重的作用。

    四. 常用的名词性的人物名称，官衔名称，单位组织名称，政府机构名称。

    五. 电台节目中的常用动词。学习掌握节目中的常用动词是必不少的部分。

    六. 电台节目中常用的英语词组，电台节目中有大量的词组出现，熟记它们将有助于听力的提高。

    七. 节目中常用的国际政府机构名称和缩写名称，在电台节目中，一些政府机构名称和缩写名称给听力增加了一定的难度。

    八. 收听英语广播电台中的其它节目。英语广播电台节目中，除新闻节目外，还有形式多样的，大量的其它节目，当我们听新闻节目有了一定的听力基础后，就应收听一些其它节目。

    九. 英国广播电台的介绍和常用语句和短语。包含有广播电台的时间，频率，内容，特点和常用语句，短语等。

    十. 电台听力编外话，

    现在市面上的听力材料，书籍很多， 有许多方法可取，特别是那些配有文字材料，甚至中文翻译的材料，对初学入门都有一定的效果，但总觉得有些呆板，陈旧，买到材料后，就了解到了材料的大致内容，难免有囫囵吞枣之趋势，本学习方法就是想在这方面有所突破，从一个一个的基础单词开始，逐步扩大到词组，句子，最后到整段内容。不必考虑将来的结果，更不要急于求成，只需你按方法一步一步地进行下去, 功到自然成。

听写填空应试指导

　　一九九五年六月以前，四级听力题只有两种类型，对话和短文。这一年，国家四、六级考试委员会首批推出了两种新题型，其中一种就是听写填空。
　　听写填空是一篇200字左右的短文，其中有10个左右空格。此题要求填入句子或句子的一部分（意念群）。这说明听力难度加大，试题更加侧重考生对语篇整体的理解，更加注重对学生语言交际能力的检测。
　　要打好此题，考生首先要做好心理准备。紧张不利于理解，只有放松情绪，听觉器官才能对声音信号作出敏感的反映，进而提高思维理解能力。因此如果考前感到紧张，不妨做一下深呼吸或想些与考试无关的事情。这样就很容易把精力集中起来，从而取得良好的听力效果。
　　其次，听前要快速浏览原文，这样做的好处是：第一，可以判断所听内容，第二，依据上下文有助于预测答案。为了节省时间，题目的directions可以不听。
　　再次，在听录音时，也可以注意听读技巧的运用，就具体而言，第1遍发音听大意，（基础好的同学可随听随记，甚至随听谁填）。第2遍边听便填，并且切记：下一个signal响起时，如果前一个空还未填完，就要毫不犹豫的放弃，即每次都要领先 于signal作好准备，否则，屡屡被动对答题不力。在第2遍听写中，要善于使用速记法。速记方法很多，如简写词头，使用缩略和运用自己独特的记号等，因人而异。关于医学的英文方面可以参考医学英语：www.hope.net.cn/english/index.html 上有关文章。如有填不上的地方，更要快速做记号，以便第3遍续听。第三遍要核对所填，或继续写出所要填的内容。核对时要注意语态、时态、单复数、前后缀、大小写、单数第三人称和名词所有格等。
　　第四，综合多种技能和技巧来理解语篇寻求答案。
　　1．阅读技巧：应用平行结构预测所填内容
　　2．写作技巧：英文短篇的首句通常为topic sentence，注意此句的理解有助于听 出下文空缺。
　　3．Key word通过关键词可预测答案
　　4．熟悉语法结构、句式等有益于听写。
　　5．听话听音：speaker的语音、语词、语气等都是很好的暗示，要充分利用。
　　6．不同的文体有不同的特点和写法，掌握这一点对听写大有裨益。
　　第五，考前多练。有实力便有信心，如果再加上休息好，保证充足的睡眠，听写时就更能发挥出色。

Vocabulary Learning Tip Three: Practice, practice, practice. Learning a word won’t help very much if you promptly forget it. Research shows that it takes from 10 to 20 repetitions to really make a word part of your vocabulary. It helps to write the word - both the definition and a sentence you make up using the word - perhaps on an index card that can later be reviewed. As soon as you learn a new word, start using it. Review your index cards periodically to see if you have forgotten any of your new words. Vocabulary Learning Tip Four: Make up as many associations and connections as possible. Say the word aloud to activate your auditory memory. Relate the word to words you already know. For example, the word GARGANTUAN (very large) has a similar meaning to the words gigantic, huge, large, etc. You could make a sequence: small, medium, large, very large, GARGANTUAN. List as many things as you can that could be considered GARGANTUAN: Godzilla, the circus fat lady, the zit on your nose, etc. Create pictures of the word’s meaning that involve strong emotions. Think "the GARGANTUAN creature was going to rip me apart and then eat me!"

Vocabulary Learning Tip Five: Use mnemonics ( memory tricks). For example, consider the word EGREGIOUS (extremely bad). Think EGG REACH US - imagine we’ve made a mistake so bad that they are throwing eggs at us and a rotten EGG REACHes US. Such funny little word pictures will help you remember what words mean, AND they are fun to make up. Also, find out which learning style suits you best. Everyone learns differently!

Vocabulary Learning Tip Six: Get in the habit of looking up words you don’t know. If you have a dictionary program on your computer, keep it open and handy. America Online and other internet services have dictionaries and thesauruses on their tool bars. Find them and look up any word you are not absolutely sure of. For the serious vocabulary student, there are many books that focus on the words most commonly found in standardized tests, such as the SAT and GRE. Playing games, such as the ones on this site, that test your knowledge will help you learn new words and also let you know how much progress you’re making.
